French Toast from your favorite breakfast buffet can be more than 1000 calories! In this episode of The Skinny, Lisa Mcree shows you a flavorful, low calorie recipe version of the morning treat that cuts the calories down to 200.
2 slices of 45 calorie a slice bread
1/2 cup egg beaters or liquid egg whites
1 T. vanilla almond milk
1 t. vanilla
1 t. cinnamon
1/2 t. brown sugar splenda
1/2 t. salt
2 T. sugar-free syrup
Fresh fruit for topping
Mix egg product, almond milk, vanilla, cinnamon, brown sugar Splenda and salt into a bowl and soak bread slices.
Heat a non-stick pan sprayed with butter flavored cooking spray over medium heat. Add soaked bread. After a few minutes and when underside is browned, flip and reduce heat to medium. It is done when the bread is no longer spongy to the touch.
Top with sugar free syrup and fruit like strawberries or blueberries or 1/2 of a banana.
